About our founder

I started this foundation because I know what it’s like to lack guidance in life. To be your own mother and father.

The name "Cloud100" comes from a personal blog I had during my time in the foster care system that helped me cope with the traumas and day-to-day experiences I faced throughout my life during that period.

When you have to parent yourself, the mental issues and hoops you jump through are painful. No one is there to nurture or protect you.

This organization relates to me because I AM the underprivileged youth we aim to help.

I know the pain of growing up without guidance.

I know how much this foundation would’ve meant to me.

I believe in this work because I know the effort and care it requires.

Underserved youth endure the endless pain of abandonment and trauma, alongside the growing pains of childhood and the sometimes likely added burden of someone abusive in your corner, which only makes things worse. Many children know all too well what it’s like to have to parent themselves. 

They are forced to develop mechanisms to make up for the lack of protection they should have had while also learning basic life skills like setting boundaries. In a society like ours, there are people who can see these vulnerabilities in a child from a mile away and they exploit them, further traumatizing the individual. 

For orphans, foster youth, and youth without guidance, growing up is not just about navigating life. It’s about overcoming an added layer of difficulties in an ever-changing world.

We cannot change the past of underserved youth. However:

We can create safe spaces where these youth feel supported.

We can teach them critical life skills to prepare them for adulthood.

We can change their outlook and outcomes for a brighter future.

Cultivating an environment where they feel safe and equipped to face life’s challenges is the least we can do to help them climb their mountain of obstacles.
